Assisted Hatching (AHA)

Under normal conditions, after reaching the uterus, the embryo comes to the position where the outer layer (zona pellucida) that surrounds itself is ripped and clipped into the uterus. The method called assisted nesting is used in some cases in the treatment of IVF. The aim here is to help the embryo to peel off this outer layer and hold onto the uterus (implanting).

 

·    - Patients with unsuccessful IVF trials who have not achieved pregnancy

·    - Zona Pellucida, i.e. the wall surrounding the outer part of the embryo is thicker than normal.

·    - Embryo quality is low

 The AHA process can be implemented in three different ways:

    - With Laser

·        -  Chemically with acid Tyrode solution

·        -  Mechanically with a pointed tip
