Causes of Female Infertility

Causes of Female Infertility

Causes by Fallopian Tubes

The sperm cells inside the vagina are drained into the vaginal fluid, pass through the uterus and the inner cavity of the uterus to reach the tubes. After ovulation, one sperm must reach the egg cell, and fertilize it. For this reason, the tubes should be both open and have the ability to carry out their function of carrying the egg inside them and then carry the fertilized egg which turns into an embryo into the uterus in a healthy way. Closure of the tubes may cause infertility and any disruption in the stenosis or transport function may lead to external pregnancy. It is therefore very important that the tubes are open. Approximately 30% to 35% of infertility cases are caused by closures in the tubes. There may be several reasons for this. Among these reasons are past uterine infections, previous uterine or abdominal operations, or congenital closures.

Ovulation Disorders

Under normal conditions, each month, one of the unripe eggs in the ovaries develops and grows (Graaf Follicle) and ovulation occurs. The most important cause of infertility and menstrual irregularity is the lack of spawning, i.e. anovulation. In cases where the number of eggs such as Polycystic Ovary is too high, both menstrual cycles and ovulation cycles are passed. Sometimes, even if regular menstruation occurs spawning might not. In cases where there is no ovulation, we try to provide spawning with various pills or hormone needles.

Uterine duct (Cervical) problems

In infertility, the cervix (uterine channel) is rarely a cause. Antibodies that kill or immobilize sperm may have formed. These antibodies can sometimes be found in the cervical mucus, and sometimes in the sperm fluid. The tests used to determine this are no longer used nowadays. In such cases, the sperm is passed through the uterus after moving the sperm through the uterine canal to the inner cavity of the uterus by a method called IUI (vaccination) which proved to be the most appropriate treatment option.

Problems of Uterus

Myoma within the uterus, congenital deformities of the uterus, a septum in the uterus, a curtain that narrows the cavity of the uterus, and other situations such as a bicornuate uterus. These cases should be treated by surgery (sometimes hysteroscopy) by intervening with a camera system.
